Garnet :Initiating/Stimulating/Fiery

Garnet is the birthstone for January and is normally associated with the colour red, however it can be found in

red/brown - pyrope

red/purple - almandine

black/brown - spessartine

red/orange - grossular

red or green - andradite

dark green - uvarovite

The word garnet is thought to come from the latin word pomegranite as it is a similar colour to the seeds.

Garnet is thought to speed up the healing process as it cleanses and re-energises the chakras. It revitalises, purifies and balances energy, bringing serenity or passion as appropriate. It inspires love and devotion. A garnet is thought to balance the sex drive and alleviate emotional disharmony.  Red garnets are energising but only for short periods of time.  Green garnets are a gentler energy

Ideas for use: when using a clear wand to direct energy to a sluggish area of the body, hold a garnet in the same hand as the wand to enhance the energy of the wand and increase the effectiveness of the healing work
