Rhodonite - Welcome to Connected by Crystals
livepages::jquery();?>Rhodonite commonly occurs as a rose-red colour material and is found in Madagascar with each piece being hand selected for colour and complexity of patterns. The Rhodonite occurs with black Chromite and has a high weight to size ratio. The pink colour is variable from a dusky pink to semi gemmy which is exceptionally rare. This is an extremely hard stone, and every piece is polished to perfection.
The name rhodonite comes from rhodos, the Greek word for rose, referring to the stone's distinct pink or rose red colour. Banded rhodonite became a very popular ornamental stone during the 1930s, after the discovery of the material in Argentina – this regional material is sometimes called Inca Rose
