Quartz - Welcome to Connected by Crystals
livepages::jquery();?>Clear Quartz from Madagascar is known for its clarity, luster, and well-formed terminations, making it highly desirable. While majority of this material is strikingly clear, some exhibits a frosted or milky appearance, adding a unique, textured beauty to each piece.
Rose Quartz from Ambatondrazaka, Madagascar, is renowned for its high clarity, delicate pink color, and translucency, making it some of the finest Rose Quartz in the world. This mineral gets its gentle pink hue from trace amounts of Titanium, Iron, or Manganese.
Tourmaline Quartz Black Tourmaline on Quartz from Namibia is notable for its striking appearance, featuring dark, elongated Schorl Tourmaline crystals perched on a matrix of clear or milky Quartz. These formations typically occur in pegmatitic veins and hydrothermal deposits, where the minerals crystallize together under specific geological conditions.
Spirit Quartz often called Cactus Quartz or Fairy Quartz depending on the exact habit comes from the north western region of South Africa. The deposits are mined by individual miners who simply own a small piece of land which scatters the areas of the deposit. The material is not mined on a commercial level but rather you have hundreds of individuals mining their own small area, often in their back gardens. The most sought-after material is dark Amethyst, but every other colour is also mined and far more regularly. Only 1% of the deposits yield Amethyst with the balancing producing white, ametrine, golden healer limonite, or variable habits in a range of mixed colours. Smokey material does occur from time to time but is extremely rare. Spirit Quartz is one of South Africa's main exports in terms of mineral specimens. Material often goes through extensive cleaning before it comes onto the open market as the majority is encrusted in Iron prior to the cleaning process.
Smoky Quartz from Madagascar is renowned for its rich, translucent brown to deep grey hues, often with a mesmerizing smoky or mist-like quality. Formed over millions of years in the island's unique geological environment, these crystals are typically found in large, well-defined hexagonal prisms or clusters. Many specimens exhibit excellent clarity, with subtle gradients of color that range from pale champagne tones to nearly opaque charcoal shades. Madagascar's Smoky Quartz often displays inclusions, such as rutile or hematite, which enhance its visual appeal and rarity. Some pieces also feature unique phantom formations or patterns that resemble wisps of smoke frozen within the crystal.
